Hello All
A bit of movement for me today. Firstly had my Rhummy nurse appoint for Nov 4th so 2 weeks only to wait till I can get council for me TNF. good news.
Secondly had my work base assessment made today in my Branch. Someone outsourced from the Access To Work people. He was extremely nice and good I felt . Lots of bits he is proposing I should need to return after 7 months off like new chair, mouse, key board, leg rests, a leaning stand for work to sit on. special pens, etc. So not so sure what happens now and how much they contribute and how much my Firm contributes. Fingers crossed.
A bit concerned though in my office they have employed another full time person which does worry me slightly as there are techncially not enough desks if we all in ? ? ?
Thirdly had flu injection invite - lovely - but I feel worth while for Nov 5th.
Lastly my Hubby taking me away tomorrow to Girona for 3 nights staying centre Hotel for a relaxing break before I try and get my head around returning to work next month.
So over and out peeps till Monday. All keep well

That sounds great Rose - progress on all fronts! I had the access to work assessment last year and the contribution by your employer depends on how long you have worked there etc.
Have a wonderful break - it sounds fantastic! Look forward to hearing how it went XX Ailsa

Hi Rose, I have not been on the forum for a while and when I do come on I see that things are starting to look up for you!!! I am sooooooo happy for you and I hope work help you out and make you feel like going back to work is a happy experience. I am seeing my work again in jan as I am having a review by my works insurance as my surgeon said i will be ok to go back to work in jan!!!! oh ok then when I still have drop foot and an unexplained nerological problem????? anyway nothing I can do at the mo but wait and see and then fight hard for the right decsion for me :) Hope your break went well or still going well as sometimes a break away gives you a nice warm glow and clears your head. I sometimes wonder why it is that having rhemmy makes people think 'theres not much wrong with you' welllllllllllll i have a standard reply...... what you cant see is that my insides are a little wrong and cannot be fixed all that well. I sometimes leave people scratching their head with that one he he he. Anyway hope all goes well and take care Dawn x

Hello all,Had a lovely couple of days away and the weather was warm. Although took things easy it took it out of me have slept a lot this week - but worth it. Thank you all for good wishes
Hello DAWN,Thank you I hope in Jan your Company and their Insurance Co. do you well. Thats what happenned with me the Ins Co visited and were not prepared to pay me anything as they felt I could do some work(I worked a very full week 47 hrs plus) So if I returned in some capacity before Christmas (starting tomorrow on 3 hrs only) they would make up part of my wage. So that was quite good.
Take care Rose

Hi Rose I think thats what will happen to me as they are coming to see me in jan but do not have a date yet! I am going to see CAB and access to work to look at things before they come. I did look on direct gov today and was really happy that when I looked at illness that the dda act is good for as there it was RHEMATOID ARTHRITIS!!!!! I did not know that they had put this in as i am sure last time I looked this was not there. Well I will have to wait and see, and hope that they will be ok. Take care Dawn

Dawn,
Good luck . I did know that DDA was a disability and noted that way. I saw access to work couple weeks ago who I though were very good and gettings me lots of items to make my workplace more comfortable, but as to date have not heard back.

Hi Rose,
RA is definitely covered by the DDA and you should expect reasonable adjustments to your work, not only in terms of equipment, but also in workload, pressure, flexible hours etc. I have adjusted sick leave 'trigger points' (where warnings and action are taken). Any sick leave taken due to RA is discounted under DDA for yearly totals. (This doesn't mean that there would not be a review if I was off long term or on an unreasonably regular basis but it does mean that I wouldn't face disciplinary action for sickness absence at the same levels as everyone else). It means that if I have coughs and colds or food poisining etc, this would be counted in the same way as anyone else but sick leave for RA is treated exceptionally under DDA.
